Mouth-watering, melt-in-your-mouth Rainbow Sprinkle Chocolate Fudge

This has to be one of the most simple chocolate fudge recipes available. It’s very basic. No frills or anything fancy for this treat. Fudge is one of my favorite indulgences. Chocolate anything is my life and chocolate fudge is definitely high up there on the list. It’s probably only second to chocolate cake.

Chocolate fudge is something very quick and easy to make. It always amazes me when I go to a Candy Shoppe on vacation. Typically, I see stores selling fudge for roughly $15 per pound. That’s insane. And I’ll be honest with you, I am always very disappointed at what one pound of fudge looks like. It sounds like it would be more than enough but fudge is very heavy. I’ll be a lady and won’t say how long a pound would last me but let’s be serious, a pound just isn’t going to cut it. This is a great starter recipe for someone who shares my (borderline unhealthy) obsession for chocolate fudge and doesn’t want to break the bank.

This is even a great gift to make for special occasions or holidays. I remember when I was in high school that my Mom made tons of chocolate fudge and packaged them very adorably for Christmas one year. You can buy an inexpensive decorative container and some mini truffle liners and set up your fudge to look very beautiful. This is a gift that anybody would love to receive. And one such gift was the subject for this Rainbow Sprinkle Chocolate Fudge photo.

Chocolate fudge is one of those exceptionally decadent and indulgent desserts. Rich, chocolatey desserts make my life complete. The fact that this dessert is so quick and so easy to make is a huge plus. I’m not a fan of spending large amounts of time making the large amount of unhealthy calories that I’ll consume after dinner. If that’s describing you, then my Easy 20-Minute Chocolate Peanut Butter Croissants will definitely be another dessert you’ll want to try in the near future.

So what’s for dessert? And what’s your favorite variety of fudge? Let me know in the comments below!

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 1 Teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 Cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Pinch of salt
  • 14 Ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 Tablespoons rainbow nonpareils sprinkles

Instructions

  • Bring a saucepan of 2 inches of water to a simmer. Pan spray a heatproof glass bowl and fit snugly on top of the saucepan on the stove. Once the bottom of the bowl has warmed, add the butter and the vanilla extract. Allow the butter to melt for about a minute and then add the semi-sweet chocolate chips and salt. Stir constantly and vigorously until the chocolate chips are melted. The chocolate will resemble a big glob and will be hard to stir. At this point, add the sweetened condensed milk and continue to stir constantly until completely mixed and smooth. This will take about 1 minute.
  • Line an 8×8 pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Scoop all of the chocolate fudge into the prepared pan immediately after the desired texture is reached and spread into one even layer. Add the rainbow nonpareils sprinkles evenly over the top of the fudge and gently press into the fudge to help them stick better. Refrigerate for at least two hours prior to slicing, overnight is best. Store in an airtight container.
