1Boxstrawberry cake mixNOTE: You will need vegetable oil, water and eggs to prepare cake mix.
8Ouncescream cheese
8Ouncescool whip
6Fresh strawberries
⅓Cupred sugar sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°. Prepare and bake the strawberry cake mix according to package directions.
In a medium bowl, use an electric mixer on medium speed to combine the cream cheese and cool whip. Place in the refrigerator to chill until use.
After the cake cools, use all of the cream cheese cool whip frosting and spread over the entire surface of the cake.
OPTIONAL DECORATING: You can decorate the top of the cake with sliced fresh strawberries. Also, you can use a heart-shaped stencil and red sugar sprinkles to design a heart in the middle of the cake. To cut fresh strawberries into the shape of a heart, cut the top (with the stems and leaves) into a V shape. Discard the top and you can round the edges to be more heart-shaped. Slice the strawberry in half length-wise and press gently into the top of the frosting.
